We’ve been prayerful since the considerations for the move were introduced. We are building our youth on a rock of Christ’s teachings, prayer, and the study of the scriptures and will be carrying this over to a place that will serve as a monument to His presence. The youth are getting excited at the thought of having a building to invite friends to, a place where they can come and involve themselves however much they feel called. This new building will serve to give us a larger fellowship, Bible study, and worship area. This new building will provide us with the space to offer newcomers a home and will offer new amenities to our youth group members. With our Savior’s involvement in our move to a new church home, our dreams and plans for the future will only serve as a template for His perfect plan.

We recognize that the Christian life is not an easy life to pursue, especially through the teenage years. Our goal is to create Christ followers that don’t just follow the name of Christians, but seek Christ’s guidance through every event life has to offer. We are currently structuring our youth to prepare for discipleship in the world. One of our first steps toward this discipleship is the mission trip we will take to Mexico during spring break, where we will build homes.

We appreciate the level of commitment Bridgeview has towards the youth group, everything from the snack suppers to the transportation of youth to and from church. The involvement of the congregation is necessary for the survival of a youth program. Our dream is that Bridgeview’s new building will serve as a foundation for us to minister in, mission from, and serve throughout.

BridgeView Building Prayer Vigil - Saturday, Feb. 19

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open a door for our message so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ,” said Paul in his letter to the Colossians, as he guided them to renew their commitment to Christ. Because we, too, are at a turning point, Paul’s words speak to the congregation of Bridgeview in Norman, Oklahoma, as we embark on our building campaign. We have purchased land, we have commissioned architects, and we now seek to fund a building. This is indeed a time for prayer.

We invite you to “devote yourselves to prayer” during a daylong Prayer Vigil on Saturday, February 20, in the sanctuary at Bridgeview. Throughout the day, continuously, we will pray, each individual or family for a thirty-minute time slot, their prayers joined to those of the next member when the new half hour begins. From morning to night we will pray.

Our interconnected prayers will continue after the Vigil and until Commitment Sunday through an electronic prayer chain, built from the positive prayers you extend by writing them on inserts provided in the Sunday bulletins. We invite you to pray for our church through Facebook, too, on Bridgeview’s Facebook page.

You can sign up for the prayer vigil Wednesday at the Ash Wednesday service or by calling the church office at 307-9611.
